Message from the Pastor: I was born and brought up in Sutton Coldfield, near Birmingham. The war had just finished and along with many of my friends I was raised in a poor home. In 1965 I became a Christian after a school friend told me what Jesus could do for me. This was the greatest decision and the best experience of my life even to this date. I trained as a computer programmer with BSA Motorcycles and in 1969 I felt that God wanted me to train in Glasgow Bible Training Institute in order to prepare me for a life of Christian service. After graduating I married Maureen and took a variety of jobs which supported me as I served the Lord.I sold christian books and worked in the publishers warehouse, I worked for the Post Office as a Postal and Telegraph Officer. I then served as a Missionary to Seamen with the British Sailors' Society and after being posted to Shetland and serving there for 18 months, I moved to the Island of Yell to take up a business there and to serve the small Apostolic Church. From a membership of a handful of elderly people, we proceeded to open a further three churches. At this time the Apostolic Church in their wisdom extended to me a call to full time service. We have three sons, Kevin (29), Leslie (25) and Simon (20). Since August 1985 to the present we have served the Church in Shetland, Yorkshire, Manchester and now the Rhondda Valleys of South Wales. I have a strong conviction that my wife and I were called to the valleys in the will of God. Aware of the poverty of the community and the churches, we have confidence that God will revisit these valleys with revival and renewing power. Our programme of prayer and evangelism is supported by Christians in Cardiff and in particular we are blessed with a wonderful relationship with students from Cardiff University who belong to the Christian Union. Since 1990 my ministry has taken on an international dimension. I have travelled and preached in most of the countries of Europe. I have also preached in Canada and Korea. Despite invitations to pastor other churches, the conviction that God wants us in South Wales means that our lives will be involved with these valleys for the forseeable future.
