Dear
Friends. It is because of the faithfulness of those members of Salem, both past
and present who through hard work, prayer and endeavour have sought to fulfil
this command that Salem Baptist Church has seen celebrating its Centenary. My
association with Salem began in 1955 when I was saved, baptised and accepted into
the fellowship.
What memories I have of all the wonderful people of God
who were such an encouragement to me at the beginning of my Christian walk. Time
does not allow me to mention them all, but my special thanks to the late Rev.
W.T.J.Uppington, Minister from 1940 - 1971 for his spiritual guidance in those
early years.
It
was October 2003 that I was inducted into the Pastorate here at Salem, and I pray
the God will give me the grace and strength to do as well as my peers.
