What it Means to be Baptised A word from the Pastor On the day we now refer to as good Friday a man named Jesus was crucified by the Roman authorities for claiming to be the Son of God. Three days later, this came man was raised from the dead. His friends saw and touched him, and were able to testify that Jesus was alive. Jesus truly is the Son of God - the promised Messiah - the fulfilment of so many prophecies which were given long before his birth . He is the saviour of the world, our promised and long awaited redeemer. He was pure and wholly without sin, yet he chose to take upon himself the sins of the whole world so that we could be redeemed and reunited with God our Father. He was resurrected from the dead, three days later to prove that he had conquered death, hell and Satan. Now Jesus offers us the wondrous gift of eternal life. It is a free gift, available to all those who call upon his name and accept him as their Lord and Saviour. Those who have faith in him are clothed in his righteousness, so that when God looks upon them he no longer sees their sin. Instead, he sees the precious shed blood of his son. He is able to forgive them because the price has been paid - once and for all. Baptismal Service
In the Bible Paul explains that when the person being baptised
disappears beneath the water and then reappears, He
or She has undergone a symbolic death, burial, and resurrection.
Christians share in the Lord's death on the cross and resurrection
of Jesus by the act of baptism.
By our baptism we were buried with Him and shared His death; in order that, just as Jesus was raised from death: we might live a new life Rom.6:4 If you wish to talk with someone from the church or preferably be contacted by Telephone or Email.
